SC Requirements
In order to homeschool, parent or guardians have to have high a school diploma/GED, teach the required subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Writing (grades 7-12 must have composition and literature) at least 180 days each year, and my favorite, select one of the 3 options of homeschooling in the state of SC. In a nutshell, that's all. Many parents and guardians have no idea that they are actually qualified to homeschool.
SC Option 3 Laws
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. You are required to be a member of a homeschool accountability association. You are required to maintain school records for each learner such as daily notes, records, or journals that tell what the learner has completed along with the activities they participated in, bi-annual progress reports, portfolio- each child-each subject and 180 days attendance- mandatory (not including sick days)
